The One with the Retailigence Interview

We recently sat down with our API partner, Retailigence, for an in-depth interview on who we are, what we do and why we went with them.

One of the websites that uses the Retailigene API is youscoopit.com. The site “connects your physical and virtual worlds, while also helping you discover the people, places and things around you that you didn’t know were there. Putting serendipity at your fingertips.”

We recently checked in with the You Scoop it team to see what they were up to and how they came about building their website.

1. Your team bubbles with enthusiasm on the web – for your app, your company, etc. What drove you to create the You Scoop it?

We felt like there were serendipitous moments all around, hiding in plain sight.  We wanted to create an app that would give people a voice, and a better way to discover all of the unknown around them.

The First One

Well you found us, well not really because we’re hidden somewhere in SoCal like ninjas, but you did find our fresh-out-of-the-oven blog.  You’re probably wondering who we are and what You Scoop it is, right? 

In a nutshell, You Scoop it is a discovery tool.  If you think about it - everyone, everyplace and everything around you is waiting to be discovered by someone and that’s basically what we do.  We help you find the people, places and things around you that you probably didn’t know were there.  

With You Scoop it, you’re essentially building a virtual layer on top of the physical world.  You can add anyone, anyplace and anything you want and then with that listing you can interact in a number of ways, including:

  • Like/Dislike
  • Check-in
  • Write a Review
  • Recommend to your connections
  • Find in Stores near you (where applicable)
  • Leave your TwoCents for others to find
  • Add Photos
